You can’t really force someone to love themselves for how they are; they’re always going to find their flaws. You can support them and say whatever you want to say to cheer them up, but in reality, it’s their mentality that will cause them to believe that maybe they’re not as bad as they believe themselves to be. To make this shorter than I would actually allow it to be when it comes to rants, don’t tell people they’re perfect because they’re not. No one will ever be perfect. Harsh reality is that there’s always room for improvement and there’s nothing wrong with that because people want to become better; they want some sort of goal to work towards. Unless it affects their well-being or does more harm than good to others, let them do what they want to do with their lives. People want the truth even though it sometimes isn’t what they want to hear. Don’t heavily sugar-coat anything and just say what’s on your mind. In the end, it’s their path, not yours. You are only entitled to an opinion and that’s it.
